I'm experimenting with some Christmas gift packaging using vintage cottage cheese containers. When I saw the containers, I fell in love with the soft pastel colors and the waxed coating/finish. I thought I would get an early start so the packaging could be enjoyed throughout the holiday season.
I embellished the tops of the containers using vintage pastel Christmas decorations that I put under a glass dome. I added a little snow and glitter for a snowglobe effect. I finished by adding vintage lace, ribbon and German tarnished tinsel.
After the gift is opened, the recipient can cut a circle around the dome, which will convert the cardboard lid into a lovely ornament.
I'm also working on some pastel gift tags. I started with vintage spun cotton angel heads. I then stitched some tulle onto the tags and added a Bible verse as a reminder to "Love One Another".
I hope your holiday season is with love.
