As I mentioned in my previous post, I recently attended Jennifer Hayslip's Christmas in July event. I thought I would share the pastel spun cotton snowmen goodie bags that I made for the girls that attended the event.
Supplies:
Vintage store stock, raw, spun cotton snowmen
Distress Stain in "Spun Sugar" and "Broken China"
Nieve aerosol snow spray
Rhinestones
Floral stamen
Metallic ribbon
Strong craft glue
I started by giving the snowmen a quick water bath with a few drops of the distress stain added. You can also spray, or sponge the stain directly on the snowmen, but I preferred a more watered down, pastel color.
After their bath, I set the snowmen out in the sun to air dry. All that was left to do was to add the rhinestones, stamen (for the nose) and a little trim. I lightly sprayed some of the snow on the top hat for a frosty effect.
I found the most fabulous box of vintage parchment pastel Christmas cards that had never been used. I inserted one of the cards in each of the goodie bags along with a German Dresden pink foil "Merry Christmas" logo.
That's it! Now the girls can take their snowmen and create their own little vignette for the holidays.
