Isn’t this how every woman’s closet should look? This past weekend, I got to travel to Waco, TX for my nephew’s birthdays. Christopher turned 6 and Adam turned 2. Each time I go, I have to make a stop at one of my favorite shops, Bloom & Bee Swanky. They have so many lovely things, but the best part is their creative way of displaying them.
More from the ladies boudoir.
Look at this pink Victorian loveseat. Mint condition.
Here is my favorite thing in the whole store. A vintage porcelain sink. They added four claw feet to the bottom and turned it into a … miniature tub to wash your pet (NOT!). I don’t know of any animal that is worthy. (Just kidding…but not really.) Or a baby/toddler tub (maybe). But the grandest idea of all is to use it as YARD ART. Maybe a bird bath, or place it outside your back door, or at the foot of a garden bench so that you can wash your feet after you have been gardening all day, before you come into the house. How adorable would this be to have a big container of bath salts sitting in a jar with a lovely brush and a nice fluffy towel? After a hot afternoon of working in the garden, you can sooth your feet in the tub while you enjoy a magazine or good book.
Here is another picture of my dream foot tub. If I had the money and could get this on the plane, it would have SO come home with me.
Here is a lovely bedroom that didn’t translate well in the picture. I was actually trying to take a picture of the “feel” more than the items themselves. It was a bright sunny, but unseasonably cool day in May (for Texas). The windows of the store were open and dripping in vintage, sheer lace. This room had a huge antique floor fan blowing toward the bed so that the bed skirt blew with the breeze. The fan had just enough of a old clicking sound so you could just imagine taking an afternoon nap on this bed on a hot summer day.
Lovely vintage clothing and accessories.
Here is a great idea for all of those vintage hankies you’ve been collecting. They slipped the hankies through a vintage belt buckle to use as an adorable napkin and napkin ring at your next tea party.
Speaking of hankies, how is this for a hanky display?
I took this picture for my dad. He creates bottle tree yard art from old vintage bottles. Here they created a bottle chandelier. Beautiful in the sunlight.
In this vignette, they placed a little plate with cheese and fruit on top of a wine glass. It looks just like a lady wearing a hat.
Beautiful vignette.
I’ve seen cement garden lion statues before. But have you ever seen a pink one?
An finally, look at this! It’s hard to see all of the detail through the window, but this dress is made of PAPER!
It’s always more fun shopping with a friend, so I hope you enjoy these lovely images.
wow! a pink lion... love it!
