As mentioned in my previous post, I just got back from visiting my sister Sherry and her family in Waco, TX. The majority of the time was spent with my precious nephews, but Sherry and I did manage to sneak out one day for some girl time. We stopped by Geriks Ole Czech Bakery to start our day with some iced coffee and homemade sweet rolls. Yum…
To work off our sugar high we stopped by one of my favorite shops, Bloom & Bee Swanky. They are nominated again by ShopAcrossTexas.com as one of the best shops in Texas. If you love offbeat antiques and vintage inspired items it’s a must stop when you are in the Waco area.
Here are a few pictures from Bloom & Bee Swanky.
These are a few of the items I picked up.
Miniature milk glass bottles, perfume bottles, and vintage jewelry.
Vintage cards with great images along with some french vocabulary flash cards.
They had boxes of wonderful old organ music. This song is called Happy Days.
A quick trip to the Salvation Army was worthwhile for this $2.00 bag of Christmas ornaments.
Later that day, we stopped by this funky shop called Sironia. It has unique items (jewelry, clothing, home accessories, etc…) and a wonderful café inside. We had to stop there because it just so happens to have the same name as a screenplay that my brother-in-law wrote. The screenplay, Sironia has completed filming and is currently in the editing stage. More…lots more on that later.
I love the inlay tile welcome mats at the entry & exit doors.
OK. I know I need a photography lesson. I definitely need to learn about lighting. And the line spacing quirks on the posts are driving me nuts. I have to keep reminding myself. The purpose of this blog is to be a creative outlet and to have fun. I need to stop stressing just because it is not exactly “right”. I’m learning as I go.
Create a wonderful life … Today
Love ya,

Thanks for your comments on my blog. I love all girly shabby colors (pink, aqua/turquoise white). I also like black and white. And denim is great along with some rustic colors for this farm girl at heart. So tosimplify, I love EVERYTHING! I am easy to please. (tee hee...)
